London, 29 February 2016 – A+E Networks® UK today announced that it has appointed Matthew Westrup to a new role of Vice President, Operations. Westrup will take up his new role in March.

Westrup, who joins from Scripps Networks International, will oversee Broadcast Operations, Media Management, Facilities and IT infrastructure for all A+E Networks’ channels across the UK, Ireland, Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Benelux, Eastern Mediterranean, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. He will be charged with building on the established reputation and reach of A+E Networks brands to ensure delivery of first class content to viewers and clients across the EMEA region as well as development and investment to ensure future innovation.

A+E Networks UK’s portfolio of channels includes HISTORY®, Lifetime®, Crime + Investigation® and H2®. It broadcasts 19 channels in 90 countries across EMEA. On 1 February the business launched H2 HD and a localized feed for HISTORY on OSN in the Middle East, with further launches planned in 2016.

Westrup will report to Nicolas Eglau, Chief Operating Officer at A+E Networks UK, and General Manager, Nordics, the Benelux and CEEMEA.

Westrup was most recently Director of Operations UK and EMEA at Scripps Networks International where he was responsible for three brands and 15 channels. Before joining Scripps he was Head of Operations at Travel Channel International.
