A+E NETWORKS EMEA ANNOUNCES BRAND REFRESH FOR THE HISTORY® CHANNEL ACROSS EMEA

HISTORY international refresh

A+E Networks EMEA has announced the refresh of The HISTORY® Channel logo and brand identity across EMEA today.

The popular pay-tv brand will continue to be a leader in broadcasting high-quality and entertaining factual content, now accompanied by a new vibrant logo, delivering a polished and fresher look for viewers.

The channel’s new look and identity are part of a global refresh that started with A+E Networks in the US and then rolled out internationally, reaching EMEA this March.

Each refresh element — from the logo to the motion sequences to its multi-platform use — communicates the idea of exposing what’s just below the surface: uncovering content hidden in plain sight and encouraging the curious to discover the history around them.

The new visual identity cleverly hides a H within a H, symbolising the idea of unearthing the real story that lies beneath the surface. With a nod to the brand’s heritage, the outside H pays homage to its past while embracing a modern twist, and the sleek lines of the inside H provide the foundation for a visual navigation system that uses nimble animations, vibrant imagery and energetic movements.

Heather Jones, Chief Creative Officer of EMEA at A+E Networks EMEA, commented: “The powerful mix of programming that is accessible, engaging, informative and fun is a winning combination that has been resonating with our viewers for years. In addition, modernizing the look and feel of the channel will help lift the brand to its next phase of success’’.

The refresh came after an exceptional year for A+E Networks EMEA in 2022, with The HISTORY® Channel taking the #1 spot amongst the pay tv factual channel set in many countries across EMEA.

In the UK, the brand known as Sky HISTORY will continue with its current logo and brand identity. In Italy, the refresh will be rolled out in June.

HISTORY2™ will join in embracing a new identity this coming May, across EMEA.
