ONCE UPON A CRIME WILL PREMIERE ON 17th OCTOBER 2018

Global media content company A+E Networks® has commissioned a new local series: Once Upon A Crime (original title: Opowiem ci o zbrodni), which is set to premiere on October 17th on Crime+Investigation Polsat in Poland.

The series will feature well-known Polish crime fiction authors as narrators of each episode, giving a unique perspective on notorious true crimes. Once Upon a Crime is being produced by Polish production company Kompania Mediowa with Agnieszka Kubiak, Head of Content Development and Creative at A+E Networks Poland, as Executive Producer.

Agnieszka Kubiak, Head of Content Development and Creative at A+E Networks said: Local commissions are the key factor behind audience and awareness growth for Crime + Investigation in the past 5 years .. With Once Upon a Crime we have invited seven popular Polish crime authors to tell the story of each case, each in their own style. We are proud to work with these talented writers on this ambitious and unique local project.

In each episode, one true crime story will be told by one of the following Polish crime fiction authors: Katarzyna Bonda, Igor Brejdygant, Wojciech Chmielarz, Marta Guzowska, Małgorzata and Michał Kuźmiński and Katarzyna Puzyńska.

Each crime writer has co-authored the script for their episode, allowing them to take on the role of narrator and tell each story in their own distinct way, reminiscent of their writing style. They will also have access to police files and crime experts.

Jolanta Gwardys, series producer at Kompania Mediowa comments: Our goal was to tell crime cases like they have never been told before. This is a unique opportunity for our writers to present their storytelling skills in a new and challenging environment, the film set. I am confident that “Once Upon a Crime” will be as appealing to the regular CI viewer as well as to all fans of crime literature.

Crime + Investigation is currently available in over 100 countries around the world and in over 60 million households. In June, the HD version of the channel launched in Poland.
