A+E Networks® is expanding its team in Africa with the appointment of several new executives who have joined Yusuf Nabee, General Manager Africa, in the company’s Johannesburg office. 


Nazarene Khan is Head of Marketing and Sponsorship: Africa and is responsible for all marketing, digital and communications for Lifetime® HISTORY® and Crime + Investigation™ across Africa. Khan previously held the position of Trade Marketing Director at Urban Brew Studios and before that was Channel Head at Glow TV. 


Reporting into Khan is marketing executive Anita Gardini and social media coordinator Justice Tshabalala. Gardini comes with an extensive marketing background in broadcasting in both radio and television; Tshabalala previously held key roles at CharterQuest Institute where he was instrumental in Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Stakeholder Communications and Operational Marketing. 


Khan reports into Yusuf Nabee, General Manager for Africa at A+E Networks.


Yusuf Nabee, comments: “Nazarene, Anita and Justice will be working alongside me to build and execute our local brand and marketing strategy for A+E Networks’ portfolio across Africa. Nabee joined A+E Networks in the newly-created role of GM Africa in June 2016, responsible for building on the global media company’s success across the African continent, one of its most important growth markets. 


A+E Networks has a strong presence in Africa already, with three premium channel brands - HISTORY, Crime + Investigation and Lifetime - all available on the DStv platform. In 2015 the company opened its first Africa office, in Johannesburg. In the past two years, A+E has also invested in three hit local commissions, Pawn Stars South Africa, Four Weddings South Africa and more recently, Married at First Sight South Africa, due to air in early 2017, all local adaptations of global franchises.
